SCRUM Structure

SCRUM divides people into two groups: The "Pigs" and the "Chickens".

The pigs constitute the SCRUM team, which consists of the Scrum master, the Product Owner members and the Team members.

Pigs are committed to building software regularly and frequently. They are the ones with "their bacon on the line." The product owner are the representative of chickens, whereas the Scrum master acts as facilitator to the team to remove any obstacles during the project.

Chickens are in fact outside of the SCRUM process and are comprised of mangers and stakeholders (e.g. customers, vendors, etc.). Chickens are only involved as project enablers or environment providers. Their interests, needs, desires, ideas and influences are taken into account, but are not in any way allowed to affect, distort or get in the way of the actual SCRUM process.
